To provide all children with the support they need to succeed in school.

Our Philosophy

Success in education translates into success in life. And at The Learning Lamp, we're lighting the way to a brighter future . . . one student at a time.

In five short years, our agency has expanded to meet the out-of-school-time educational and enrichment needs of children in a dozen counties throughout west central Pennsylvania, by offering services on a mobile basis where and when they are most needed. Our Services

• One-on-one private tutoring provided by PA certified teachers, based on current classroom instruction, with the goal of reinforcing lessons taught during the school day (Click here for enrollment forms)
• SAT Prep classes and individual tutoring designed to sharpen a student's test-taking skills

• Academically-focused preschool offering literacy-based curriculum at five locations in Cambria, Bedford and Somerset Counties (Registration for fall 2008 is underway now!)

• Kindergarten Extension programs aligned with curriculums of half-day kindergarten programs in the area, featuring a variety of educational and fun, hands-on activities (Now, with two locations in Richland Township & Westmont, Cambria County.)
• Socialization program for twos and young threes ready for a more structured learning environment
• Parent and child classes designed to give parents and toddlers the opportunity to interact with each other and their peers in an early-literacy, classroom-based program
• After school homework help at locations around the community
• Creative and fun enrichment workshops during school holidays, weekends and over the summer (Register now for Summer Camps 2008!)
• Classes aimed at building science, math and technology skills (Introducing Earth Balloon...the newest, coolest way to engage students in earth science & geography! )
• Before and after school care custom-designed to meet the needs of school districts and families
• Quality child care for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years with family-friendly scheduling, including flexible days and hours (Now, with two sites in Richland Township, Cambria County.)
• Alternative education programs for struggling learners, designed to fit the specific requirements of your school or consortium
• Grant writing and project consulting for school districts
