Why Give to The Learning Lamp?
Simply put, The Learning Lamp makes a difference in the lives of children—many of whom would fail to succeed in school, if not for our affordable programs. The Learning Lamp levels the academic playing field by making high-quality tutoring, preschool, child care, before and after school care and innovative enrichment programs accessible to all children, regardless of income.
On an annual basis, The Learning Lamp provides $100,000 in preschool scholarships to disadvantaged children and more than 3,500 hours of free or reduced-cost tutoring for income-eligible students in grades K-12.
No Gift is Too Small
The Learning Lamp never turns a child away because a family can't afford to pay for services. This is where you come in. We are asking those who believe in the power of education to make an investment in a child. We'll use your donation to provide one-on-one instruction by a PA certified teacher to economically disadvantaged children who need help outside the classroom. It's tax-deductible, and a contribution of any size will have impact.
For instance, a donation of $26 pays for one tutoring session with a certified teacher. $52 pays for a week's worth of tutoring. We'll pair your donation with donations from other businesses and individuals to provide high-quality services for many, many children.
