School District Services

Tutoring Services

The Learning Lamp partners with schools to implement tutoring programs aimed at enhancing student performance in classroom and on standardized tests like the PSSA. We tailor our services to meet the needs of each district. Here are some ways we may be able to work with you:

  • Assist in the search for tutoring dollars, including grant research and preparation
  • Partner with teachers to develop a program that's already been funded

The Learning Lamp offers all services on a mobile basis to school districts across west central Pennsylvania. If your district is looking for assistance with the planning and execution of a tutoring program, consider us. The Learning Lamp is a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency whose mission is to help all children access high-quality, content-driven tutoring regardless of income or ability to pay for services. We also have experience with the Education Mentoring Grant offered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Our goal is to work with your staff to build out-of-school time programs that meet the needs of your students. The Learning Lamp's tutoring sessions are developed by a team including your teachers and our education director, a master's level educator with a background in curriculum development and implementation. Programs can be small group tutoring sessions, with students grouped by skill set or hybrid tutoring sessions using research-based tutoring webware that offers comprehensive reporting data and individual learning pathways.

The Learning Lamp also provides Homebound Instruction. Click here for details.

Our programs can be designed to fit the specific requirements of your school or consortium. We handle the planning, grant writing hiring and implementation of the program, while you maintain control of the academic content and individual educational and developmental needs of your students.

It's a partnership that meets the needs of your "at-risk" students, while saving you time, stress and money.

Our school-based programs offer the least restrictive environment and quicker transition of students back into the traditional school setting. It's an affordable, logical solution to your increasing alternative education costs.

“The Learning Lamp has helped my son tremendously. Not only has he brought his math and science grades up from C’s to A’s, but his self confidence has improved. He now has the self-esteem to do things on his own. I would highly recommend this program to any parent or child.”
-Dianna, Mom from Windber
