Children’s Book Festival – Coming April 10-12, 2015!

Picture This! You and your children meeting nationally known authors, musicians and other performers at the 7th Annual Children’s Book Festival of Johnstown. The FREE event aims to get children in grades PreK-6 excited about reading by engaging them and their parents in interactive literacy experiences with professional authors, illustrators and storytellers. Named one of four “Best of the Best” arts projects by the PA Council on the Arts, the 2015 festival features: 

• Dave Roman, artist/author, Astronaut Academy, X-Men and Last Airbender graphic novels
• Greg Pizzoli, author/illustrator, 2015 PA One Book Number One Sam and The Watermelon Seed
• Zachariah Ohora, author/illustrator, Stop Snoring Bernard and No Fits, Nilson!
• Mark Weakland, musician/author, Zombies and Forces and Motion

Every child walks away with a new book from FirstBook. Plus, lots of arts and crafts, music, new and used book sales, live theatrical performances and the return of festival-favorite Zany Umbrella Circus. Festival hours are:

Friday, April 10 – 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Saturday, April 11 – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sunday, April 12 – Noon to 4 p.m.
