Schools may be closed for summer break, but The Learning Lamp and Ignite Education Solutions are hiring NOW for the 2016-17 school year. Candidates can take part in on-site job interviews during a series of job fairs in June, July and August.
The job fairs will be held at The Learning Lamp’s main office at 2025 Bedford Street in Johnstown and are scheduled for the following dates and times:
Tuesday, June 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Wednesday, July 13 from 1 to 4 p.m.
Thursday, August 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Thursday, August 25 from 1 to 4 p.m.
Full- and part-time positions are available for people with a variety of education levels and skill sets. Some positions also offer a lot of flexibility in scheduling. Available jobs include: substitute teachers for many area school districts, substitute LPNs, alternative education, special education and Title 1 teachers, ESL certified teachers, teacher aides and personal care aides, custodians, supervisors for before/after school and child care programs, child care staff, prevention specialists, outreach staff, tutors and other specialty positions in schools.
The Learning Lamp will hire more than 50 substitute teachers for positions at local districts including Chestnut Ridge, Conemaugh Township, Conemaugh Valley, Forest Hills, Richland, Richland Academy, Shade-Central City, Somerset Area, Tussey Mountain Area, Turkeyfoot Valley Area, and Windber Area school districts, as well as local Career and Technology Centers. Applicants for teaching positions should hold a valid PA teaching certificate or be able to acquire an emergency certification. To qualify for emergency certification, a candidate must hold a 4-year degree from a college or university.
