The Learning Lamp Offering Greater Variety of Staffing for Schools

Posted on August 21, 2014

Johnstown, PA (August 21, 2014) – The start of a new school year can leave school districts working overtime to fill open positions. Many are looking not just for teachers and aides, but a variety of school professionals to support the needs of students.

“At the request of local school administrators, we’ve expanded our staffing services to include a wider variety of positions,” said Kayla Cobaugh, human resources assistant at The Learning Lamp. “Positions need to be filled and we’re working hard to get the word out to job-seekers– not only teachers, but other professionals, too. We’re looking for school psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, speech therapists and more.”

In addition to psychologists, occupational and speech therapists and social workers, The Learning Lamp has several openings for personal care aides. The organization offers competitive pay rates, part-time and full-time options, health care and a retirement savings plan, plus opportunities to further career growth with tuition assistance and professional development.

The organization continues to recruit substitute teachers and aides for a number of Johnstown and Somerset area school districts. These positions offer great flexibility and are available immediately. Retired teachers and emergency certified teachers are welcome. Current clearances, a physical and TB test are required.

“The Learning Lamp partners with more than 30 school districts in Pennsylvania to provide school staffing services,” said Leah Spangler, CEO. “We work together with schools to ensure positions are filled with qualified candidates in a timely manner.”

Interested candidates can send a resume to jobs@thelearninglamp.org or call Kayla at 814-262-0732.
