Johnstown, PA (Mar. 5, 2015) – The Learning Lamp and EcoKids are proud to bring back the Children’s Consignment Sale for spring 2015! Parents can browse through hundreds of consigned kids’ items, which include apparel, toys, furniture baby equipment, Easter dresses and suits, and spend less than they would at department stores. The Spring Sale will run March 12, 13, and 14, 2015 at Eco Kids, 2025 Bedford Street in Johnstown.
“The Children’s Consignment Sale gives parents an inexpensive option to get their kids outfitted for spring and summer,” said Ingrid Kloss, development director at The Learning Lamp. “We’re gearing up for a great sale, with over 50 consignors participating.”
The schedule for the three-day sale is as follows:
Thursday, March 12 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, March 13 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 14 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Since 2010, The Learning Lamp’s biannual Children’s Consignment Sales have consistently raised funds for its free after school and summer outreach program in Moxham, Oakhurst and Prospect. The program provides students with a stable after school environment where they receive homework help from a certified teacher, a healthy meal and character-enrichment activities.
The success of these sales served as a launching pad for EcoKids—a year-round, one-stop shop for consigned children’s clothes and other items. Both the sales and the consignment store promote an eco-friendly attitude when it comes to gently used items. Instead of throwing away clothes, toys, and equipment your kids have outgrown, parents are encouraged to recycle them so other families can use them.
The Learning Lamp is a nonprofit organization with a mission to engage all children in the support they need to succeed. We deliver high quality programs that are affordable and accessible to families of all income levels. The Learning Lamp served 19,748 children from 88 school districts and 46 non-public and private schools and other organizations in 18 Pennsylvania counties and two counties in Maryland in 2014.
Our programs include: one-to-one tutoring; before/after school programs; portable classrooms aimed at building math and science skills; alternative education programs for at-risk students; evidence-based prevention programs; online learning and credit recovery; SAT preparation; educationally-focused child care; literacy-based preschool programs; and grant writing and project consulting for schools.
