Gambling Prevention Program
Kids don't gamble....Wanna Bet? 
Did you know that Cambria County youth are more likely to gamble than their Pennsylvania peers? According to the PA Youth Survey, gambling begins as early as grade 6. Whether it's sporting events, card games or online casinos, participating in gambling at a young age sets up students for potential trouble down the road.
To address the issue, The Learning Lamp is partnering with the PA Department of Health and the Cambria County Drug and Alcohol Program to offer a FREE gambling prevention program to local schools. North American Training Institute's Kids Don't Gamble...Wanna Bet is a research-based curriculum that's aligned with the PA Academic Standards in health, math, statistics and probability. The program is delivered by a prevention specialist and PA-certified math teacher.
Attention Principals, Health Teachers and Guidance Counselors! We're now scheduling for the 2011-2012 school year. School visits can take place any time during the school year, with sessions scheduled as early as September. Free professional development sessions for teachers are also available.
