Johnstown, PA (May 3, 2018) – In just a few weeks, school will be dismissed for the summer. Now is the time for parents to figure out what to do with their children during the day while they are at work. The Learning Lamp offers a great option — 12 weeks of exciting, engaging summer programs for preschoolers and school-age children and a live performing arts experience geared to older kids.

The Learning Lamp’s preschool summer camps for ages 3, 4, and 5 are half-day sessions designed and taught by certified teachers in early childhood education. Parents will find age-appropriate themes like Surf’s Up, Enchanted Adventures, Things That Go and Construction Junction. Camps meet Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon in Richland, Westmont, Jennerstown and Somerset. No matter where your child goes to preschool or kindergarten, The Learning Lamp’s summer camps are a great way to keep him or her engaged in hands-on learning activities all summer long. Tuition is $60 per week, with extended child care hours available.

For students entering grades 1 to 5, school-age summer camps feature FUN educational hands-on-learning with a twist. Camp meets Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Richland, Westmont, Ebensburg, Jennerstown, Somerset and Davidsville. Choose from a 3, 4 or 5-day plan. For students entering grades 6 to 12 who have the love and ambition to perform on stage, The Learning Lamp is offering its 11th Annual Summer Performing Arts Academy June 11- 23, 2018. This two-week program takes place at Richland Performing Arts Center and meets from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, excluding performances. Students will learn the ins and outs of theater production as they audition, rehearse, build sets and finally perform for an audience. This year, the featured production is Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka, Jr. – a scrumdidilyuptious musical guaranteed to delight everyone’s sweet tooth. Tuition is $275 and includes acting, vocal and choreography classes, show rehearsals, scripts and costumes, a t-shirt and two tickets to the show. New this year – a sibling discount will apply at a rate of $200.
