Education Job Expo Will Take Place on April 13

Johnstown, PA (March 28, 2017) –The Learning Lamp will host an Education Job Expo will on Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 1 to 5:00 p.m. at the Greater Johnstown Career & Technology Center located at 445 Schoolhouse Road, Johnstown, PA.Job seekers will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with and give resumes to a variety of regional employers in the field of education.Also, they can learn how to become an Emergency Certified Substitute Teacher.

Employers will be able to meet with prospective employees in our region and share knowledge about their organization and available job openings.Booth spaces are available for employers interested in attending. There is no cost to participate.

The Education Job Expo is hosted in partnership with the Learning Lamp, JARI, PA CareerLink Cambria County and the Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 (AIU8).The deadline for employers to register for a table is April 7.For more information and registration details, contact Kayla Cobaugh at (814) 262-0732 x236 or by email at kcobaugh@thelearninglamp.org.

The Learning Lamp is a nonprofit organization with a mission to engage all children in the support they need to succeed. We deliver high quality programs that are affordable and accessible to families of all income levels. The Learning Lamp served 30,711 children from 57 school districts and 53 non-public and private schools and other organizations in 17 Pennsylvania counties and one county in Maryland in 2015. 

Our programs include: one-to-one tutoring; before/after school programs; portable classrooms aimed at building math and science skills; alternative education programs for at-risk students; evidence-based prevention programs; online learning and credit recovery; SAT preparation; educationally-focused child care; literacy-based preschool programs; and grant writing and project consulting for schools.
