Education-Related Jobs Available in Bedford County for Those That Hold a Four-Year Degree in Any Subject

Posted on February 7, 2017

Fishertown, PA (Feb. 7, 2017) –The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry, Center for Workforce Information & Analysis, released a report in December 2016 stating the unemployment rate in Bedford County is 5.8 percent. That translates into 2,818 people out of work and looking for jobs. In 2016, education occupations employed the most people countywide, second only to healthcare.

“Pennsylvania school districts are finding a shortage of certified individuals to employ as day-to-day substitutes in all classrooms,” explained Jona Duppstadt, Director of Educational Programs at Ignite Education Solutions, a division of The Learning Lamp exclusively devoted to serving schools. “What people don’t realize is if you hold a bachelor’s degree and enjoy working with children, you can become emergency certified to be a substitute teacher and work as much or as little as you’d like in schools throughout our area.”

Ignite Education Solutions is seeking individuals with four-year college degrees in any subject to serve as substitute teachers in the Chestnut Ridge School District, as well as other districts in the county. Join us for a free seminar on Thursday, February 9 from 5 to 6 p.m. in the library of Chestnut Ridge Middle School located at 3281 Valley Road, Fishertown, PA 15539, where Ignite representatives will explain the process of becoming an emergency certified substitute teacher.

Reliable, quality substitute teachers are in high demand—and short supply. In fact, substitute teachers man 10 percent of all classrooms in public schools each day. By the time a student graduates, one full year of his or her instruction will have been provided by substitute teachers!

Ignite offers competitive pay rates, flexible scheduling, plus professional development. All positions require updated clearances. To learn more about being a substitute teacher in the Chestnut Ridge School District, please call Kellie at 814-262-0732 x244 or email your resume to info@igniteedu.org.
