Ignite Hiring Substitute Teachers Across Somerset County

Posted on February 17, 2020

Meyersdale, PA (February 14, 2020) –You can make a meaningful difference in the life of a student in our local school districts! Ignite Education Solutions is looking for people to substitute teach in the Meyersdale area and across Somerset County. Applicants can be certified teachers OR those with a 4-year degree, a clean background, and an interest in working in the school environment.

“If you have a bachelor’s degree and enjoy working with children, you can become emergency certified to be a substitute teacher. It’s a great job with a flexible schedule. You can work as much or as little as you’d like in schools in our area,” said Jona Duppstadt, director of educational programs at Ignite Education Solutions, a division of The Learning Lamp that serves schools. “We are helping Pennsylvania school districts battle the shortage of certified individuals to employ as day-to-day substitutes in all classrooms.”

Dependable, quality substitute teachers are in high demand—and short supply. Program-wide, about 43 percent of our substitutes work five days per week! Working as a substitute teacher is a great opportunity for retired teachers to earn extra income without risking retirement benefits. Applicants are encouraged to apply online by visiting igniteedu.org.

Ignite offers meaningful work, competitive pay rates, flexible scheduling, plus opportunities for professional development and advancement. All positions require updated clearances. For more information on becoming a substitute teacher in the Meyersdale Area School District or elsewhere in Somerset County, please call Kayla Balamuta at 814-262-0732 extension 232.
