Posted on October 19, 2018

Johnstown, PA (Oct. 19, 2018) – Looking for that perfect necklace and handbag to breathe new life into a favorite outfit or maybe you have someone on your holiday shopping list who loves to accessorize and can’t seem to find what they want in stores? The Learning Lamp and BOTTLE WORKS invites the community to “Sip and Shop” from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at BOTTLE WORKS. The organizations have spent months collecting gently loved jewelry, handbags and accessories that will be sold at the event with proceeds supporting The Learning Lamp’s preschool tuition assistance program and BOTTLE WORKS’ lifelong learning initiative. Attendees can also shop a variety of vendors and will be treated to light hors d’ oeuvres. B&L Wine Cellars will also be there to offer wine for purchase. SS display“This has been a great opportunity for people to repurpose their gently loved items—the purse they had to have or the earrings that matched a special outfit, give someone else a chance to pick up some quality accessories at bargain prices, all the while supporting arts and education for youth in our community,” said Kerri Belardi, director of communications at The Learning Lamp. BOTTLE WORKS’ lifelong learning initiative provides arts education opportunities for all community members from preschool through adulthood. The program also includes professional enrichment opportunities for growing artists.

“Collaborating on the “Sip and Shop” fundraiser with our friends at The Learning Lamp has been terrific. Both organizations have a common goal of supporting local youth and helping students to succeed. It only made sense to share resources that will allow us to strengthen services and ultimately reach more children,” said Laura Argenbright, executive director of BOTTLE WORKS.

Admission to “Sip and Shop” is free from 6 to 8 p.m. VIP tickets of $10 can be purchased at the door at 5 p.m., granting shoppers early access to all merchandise. Browse, buy, bring a friend, enjoy an evening out and support arts and education initiatives for children in our community.
