New Makerspace Available for Children to Learn, Explore and MorePosted on August 31, 2017
Johnstown, PA (Sept. 1, 2017) – Introducing KidVention! It’s a children’s makerspace designed to encourage exploration, innovation and tinkering through hands-on projects with a STEAM (science, engineering, technology, art, and math) focus. KidVention is ideal for birthday parties, after school activities, scout badges workshops, and anything you or your child can dream up!
KidVention offers a monthly series of themed science and technology classes during the after school hours. Spooktricity kicks off in October, giving students the opportunity to explore the world of circuitry. Students will participate in activities that involve creating and animating masks, haunted houses, Halloween characters, a building a spooktacular flash light, and more! Classes take place for students in grades K-2 Tuesdays from 4-5 p.m. on October 3, 10, 17 and 24, and for students in grades 3-5 Thursdays from 4-6 p.m. on October 5, 12, 19 and 26.
Recycle, Reuse, Reinvent is the theme for November. Students will learn how to make recycled paper, reuse plastic bottles and repurpose old, broken, and used toys, computers and umbrellas. Classes take place for students in grades K-2 on Tuesdays from 4-6 p.m. The dates are November 7, 14 and 27. For students in grades 3-5 classes take place on Thursdays from 3-5 p.m. on November 2, 9, 16 and 30. The monthly tuition to attend KidVention classes is $48.
Children can also celebrate a birthday at KidVention. Party goers will keep their brains buzzing for up to three hours as they participate in hands-on science, engineering, art, construction projects, stop action video production and much more! Choose from one off our many themes such as Things with Wings, Play with Clay, Masquerade, It’s Electric, Construction Zone, Maker Madness, Minecraft, or Ka-Pow. The staff at KidVention can also work with you to personalize your own party theme. The party package price is $200 which includes up to three hours of guided instruction, materials, and take-home projects.
