Winter Coat Donations Keep Young Children Warm in Blair County

Posted on November 10, 2020

Johnstown and Claysburg, PA (November 6, 2020) – The Learning Lamp Preschool at Claysburg and Claysburg-Kimmel Elementary are working together to collect new children’s winter outerwear for United Way of Blair County’s (UWBC) Toasty Toddler program. Since 2009, UWBC has collected cold weather outerwear for newborns through age five after noticing many children’s winter clothing programs focused on school-age.

New winter coats, hats, gloves, scarves and snow suits in sizes newborn through 5T, and children’s size x-small (4/5) through medium (7/8) are being collected from November 9-13, 2020 at the following locations:

  • Claysburg-Kimmel Elementary located at 240 CK Elementary Drive in Claysburg
  • The Learning Lamp’s main office located at 2025 Bedford Street in Johnstown

Anyone wishing to donate can visit either drop off spot, or contact The Learning Lamp at 814-262-0732.

The Learning Lamp Preschool at Claysburg-Kimmel Elementary opened in September 2020, bringing a new high quality preschool classroom to Claysburg. The start-up of this program was supported by a generous impact grant from UWBC. For additional details on the program, contact Melissa at 814-262-0732 ext. 289 or visit thelearninglamp.org.
